Dear summerskier, dear friends

Enclosed you find some news of the summerski area:
Summer Freestyle in Saas-Fee In a short while it is time again for Saas-Fee to open its gates for the summer season. The park crew is working almost non-stop the last few weeks to be able to finish up before the opening this weekend. At the moment the snow conditions are not too bad, but the climate is already very hot & the snow very soft, which makes it quite hard to shape as we want. But the parkteam is not giving up! For the opening the goals are to have a working superpipe, at least one of the kickerlines open & some rail obstacles. From there the parkcrew will try to expand more & more for everyday till all things are placed properly.
Superpipe New for this summer is that we are grooming the superpipe the whole season through with the Swissmade Pipetool from Zaugg. The advantages are: an even bigger pipe with longer radius. But be aware! Especially pipe shredders! That the pipe will close when the park staff consider the snow conditions are to soft!!
Summerski opening Fot the summerski opening from the 5th of July, the cable car company offers the skipasses on Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th for the half price. This means 50% off on the day ski passes. Also is Swiss Ski presenting his new ski dress of the national team. More info: www.saas-fee.ch
Saas-Fee Ride On Saturday the 19th of July the first summer freeskievent takes place in the Saas-Fee freestylepark. This event is organised by Warren Smith. More info under: www.saasfeeride.com

Hi, all 3 parks are ready to shred until 4th of May. After this date the Roxy Glacier Park will be open until 2nd of June. The Roxy Glacier Park got a small change as we won?t offer a Quarterpipe, instead of it we have a step up and a "regular" hip. The pics are all from the Roxy Glacier Park. Parkreport Mammoth Mountain

Yesterday i came back from California, where i spent a great week in Mammoth Mtn. The Roxy Chicken Jam was hold there too. You ´d be very stoked to ride those parks & pipes ( Unbound Park, South Park, etc) there. The park crew around Oren Tanzer did a great job regarding park design and its daily maintenance. The rails/boxes/jumps were all in a superb conditions. I have seen only one obstacle which i didn´t like to ride- the big hip in the South Park. More info go to http://unbound.mammothmountain.com/

With the same lift ticket you also can visit June Mtn, which has another 2 parks to offer!

Snowparktour 2008 Final in DC Central Park done!

Can you imagine something better than riding a perfect park and Mathieu Crepel cheering you up? Yes, you are right: Mathieu Crepel was kind of the „star guest“ at the finals of the Snowpark Tour 2008! But one after another, first the action: After the last qualification of this year´s Snowpark Tour took place at the Kitzsteinhorn on Friday, Saturday saw the best riders of the 10 different stops to compete in the finals. It was a blue bird sky, the snow was fresh and the DC Central Park perfectly shaped. As a new dump was predicted for Sunday, the organizers decided to hold the complete finals on Saturday. “Due to the tight schedule, we demanded a great deal of the riders – but in the end, everyone was stoked”, Bernd Gutwenger from organizers Mellow Constructions reported. “As we had at least one good-weather day and a high level at every tour stop and at the finals, it was the best Snowpark Tour ever!“

During a four-hour jam session, the riders had the opportunity to show their skills in the varied DC Central Park. First, they entered a line with a straight box, a huge A-frame box, a jib tree, an elephant down rail and several kickers before they changed to the kicker line including an A-frame and a flat down box, a step down kicker with three take-offs, two more big kickers and a wallride. Lots of possibilities to show creativity! The judges looked for the overall impression including style, creativity and execution of the tricks.

Last year’s champion Patrik Huber from Warth was crowned the “most impressiverider” again – the 24-year-old’s backflip and switch backflip variations were unbeatable. “Especially his easy style was very convincing”, Bernd Gutwenger said. Patrik Huber won a wild card for the TTR event Nanshan Open 2009 in China. “It’s very attractive to go to China”, the Austrian was thrilled. “For sure I wanted to try to defend my title”, he stated as the reason why he took part in the Snowpark Tour again. “I’m stoked I won again. It was a fine park, nice weather – perfect conditions!” 22-year-old Swiss Matthias Vogt came in second and showed the best trick of the day, a backside 720 Japan. Thomas Coldabella from Stans (SUI) took third.

At the team battle, the Swiss team from Gran Masta Park Adelboden secured a tight victory over last year’s champions from Lech (AUT). The riders from Real Park Flumserberg (SUI) came in third.

At the female snowboarders’, the Swiss took a triple victory: Elena Könz from Vna was first in front of last year’s champion Anais Cettou from Mortiers and Nora Hodel from Gunten. Elena Könz now has the opportunity to show her skills at the 6-star TTR event Roxy Chicken Jam 2008. “This victory means a lot to me”, Elena said. “Last year I was second and it was my goal to win now though I didn’t really expect it. Now I’m really happy for sure!”

But one guy was probably the luckiest of all: 16 years old Thomas Feurstein. As the youngest rider, he became 10th in the main ranking but with a very smooth style and some really good jib tricks in his pocket, he won the Onboard Award for the Best Rookie and nobody but Mathieu Crepel himself, snowboard double world champion, handed him over his prizes: A sash and a limited edition 686/ Onboard jacket. Fortunately the winner´s kiss came from Onboard girl Anna…

“It was a good park and I saw great riding – you could see that the riders really had fun”, Mathieu said. “The jam session format is perfect to show your best riding, especially for riders who have not yet done so many contests. I was surprised to see such good riding and such a good park. The event was bigger than I expected!”

We all are already looking forward to next year´s Snowpark Tour!

Hi all, just want to let you know that the big A-Box 5m/5m/5m long and 3m wide will be ready to shred Monday afternoon. Also the step up - wave snowbox will be open for the 1st time. I can tell you that the park is sick to ride for everyone of you.

On 14 th of March you have a chance to qualify for the Snowparktour Final ( www.snowparktour.com), on the 15th we have a great party in the castle in Kaprun.
By the way the Railpark in Kaprun is not 100% open as some jibobstacles were removed by the strong storm last weekend, but the 3 parks in the mountain are all in a sweet condition :-)

It`s very chilled to shred the park because the sun is shining the whole day. I was very impressed by the big kickerline because they had the perfect size and they`re always perfectly shaped. The small kickerline is O.K.,but the problem is that, if you don`t stick the first kicker than you`ve no more speed for the second one.
They`ve enough rails,but they should take the old rails away because they don`t slide that good as the new ones.
They should enlarge the chilllounge,for example:play some music and BBQ(and of course a lot of beer):-)
The best thing is that there is a parklift because you can do a lot of runs on one day.

Railpark as 5th park in Kaprun!

Kaprun is now home of 5 parks, the Kitzsteinhorn Mellowpark with 3 and Maiskogel with 1 park. A new rail park with a double kinked rail 12m, 2 wave boxes 8m, 2 picnictables, a jib tun and a 10m rainbow box is now ready to shred, located the village Kaprun. The local riders, Rippo, wh ois one of our 3 shapers and the skiresort Kitzsteinhorn finished the new spot just 2 days ago. After riding in the mountain, you can finish your day off with some jib runs at the Lechnerberg Lift. This spot ensure your park action even if bad weather ?d not allow to open the 4 mountain parks. Shreddin Kaprun is surely great for you as snow condition is more than good there. Enjoy!

About the Gravity Park we have shape the kickers new,so the big one have a tabel from 15 meter and the smaller one is 10 meter! then we have the rail line: small rail,smal box,kinkbox,curvbox,downbox and the long straight rail! and a small kicker line,from 1meter till 7 meter tabel! and we have start to build the pipe! so in 1 or 2 weeks the pipe gonna be ready to shreed!! and y try on monday to but some parkpics!!!

Yo riders, yesterday we had a small photo shooting in the DC Central Park. The riders Manuel Bernert & Alvaro Vogel plus us shapers & local skiers were there to rock some of the jib obstacles we actually have there. Unfortunately we had stronger wind, but that brought us some fresh snow by today :-) Some new snow in the park mean also that I will adapt some more great obstacles and surely the kicker shots will come as soon as possible. The last days were very busy for the Mellow Shape Team as they have built new obstacles in the DC Central Park in Kitzsteinhorn. New in the park are 12m elephant rail, 18m straight box, 9m down box, 3m high & 8m wide wallride spine plus the medium roller line offers 4 jumps in a run. The Roxy Park with its super view into all directions is waiting with its great QP and 8m Kickers and some jiib obstacles. Easy Park is fun for everyone of you too. Yeahh waren heute im Park in Lech Shreden!

Im Park befindet sich eine dreier Kicker Line, ein Rainbow Rail, ein Log Bonk, ein mini sraight und eine kleine straight Box, sowie ein flat down, eine curved, eine down flat down Box und ein Wallride der wie ich finde besser wäre, wenn er nicht frontal anzufahren wäre sondern mehr down the Line, seitlich stehen würde.

Die Kicker Line besteht aus einem ca 6m einem 8m und einem 10m Jump, wobei die ersten zwei eher einen flachen und der Letzte einen recht poppy Take off haben.

Insgesamt ein recht cooler Park!

Schon seit Weihnachten erstrahlt der Boarders Playground in Westendorf in seiner vollen Pracht. Aufgrund intensiver Schneeproduktion und langen Arbeitstagen konnten wir einen neuen Aufbaurekord verbuchen. Der Public Park wurde erweitert und die Pro Park Kicker haben einen neuen Shape. Alle Rails und Boxen sind im Einsatz.
Der erste shred day letzten Samstag war bereits ein voller Erfolg. Auch wenn das Wetter nicht so recht mitspielte, tummelten sich zahlreiche Boarder und freeskier Im Boarders Playground und gaben sich sozusagen voll die Kante.
Schaut vorbei, der BP Westendorf ist in Top Zustand

BP Westendorf – Ready to shredd!

The whole setup of the public and pro park line at the Boarders Playground Westendorf is „ready to shredd“.
After the big lack of snow in the last season they shaper boys pushed hard to triumph with a finished park setup as soon as possible this year – particularly the beginner line became enlarged with some new and funny obstacles. But also the advanced riders will find a nice playground setup in the pro park, which will keep you entertained and definitly not bored. Especially the big kicker line attracted my attention – the kickers have more pop and you have a nice airtime, because the take offs got new shapes (maybe from Santa Claus ... )

Nun der gravity park steht jetz seit 2 wochen, was wir im angebobt für euch haben ist: eine kleine kicker line,mit 3 sprüngen,2-7 meter! Dann eine perfekte Rail line mit 7 boxen und rails! alle rails sind in einer line gestellt! dann haben wir noch eine grosse kicker line, 2 grosse kicker line,10-15 meter! und die pipe wird dann auch noch kommen sobald das es wieder schnee gibt! also leute wenn ihr lust habt einen fetten jibbrun mit mir und meinen kollegen zu geben dann ab nach zermatt den jetzt dank unserem neuen tunnel hat man nicht mehr so lang für bis nahc zermatt!! bilder vom park folgen noch!

Finally we proudly can inform you that DC Central Park is open since 2 days! Before i head off to China for the next 8 days here is the latest new from Kitzsteinhorn/Kaprun.
In the next 3 days Baumi and the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park Crew, HP&Rippo&Tom will integrate the new DC jib obstacles: 18m flat box, 15m down rail, 8m wide &3m high wallride, 9m flat box and the 12m elephant t-rail. Plus the medium line will add another roller 8m to its line.
From now on you can enjoy 3 medium kickers, 1 cliff jump, huge step down kicker 16m, 14 m style roller and 14m kicker plus A-box 9m, 2 picnictables, 1 curved box, snow wall, 1 kinked box 8m and tree

DC Central Park Update 26.12

Hello everyone, step by step the park will be pimped with really nice toys to jump or slide. Today we started to add 2 new jib obstacles to the upper area. This is gonna be a hike and drop combo who like to walk and get noticed by the people on the top of the park. First there is a picnic table, but hold on, there is another one, which can change in its position through the parkseason. After that a sweet tree jiib thing can be cleared however you like to have fun with it. The next 2 days the park will be closed for the last redesign and hopefully you all will be happy with my work then. Feedback are always welcome. So shoot back to me to make that park one of your favourite spots. Check out for my next blog B-)

Kickerarea Terrainpark Zugspitze open !!

Finally the Terrainpark is complete with Railpark and Kickerarea. There are 5 Landings in a Line with different Take offs and Tables from 12-15m. A Beginnerline is also ready, with 3 smaller Kickers ( 5-7m ) and a Table Top ( 5m )in a Row. Also good news from the Railsection, we completely refreshed the Set Up and Ziener brought you 2 brand new Boxes ( A-Frame, Kinked ) to slide on. Enjoy the Terrainpark Weiße Tal.

Hello to all, who will / want to come to the Roxy Chicken Jam next weekend. Those pics are made 2 days ago. Unfortunately the weather with partly heavy snowfalls don?t allow me to make good photos of the current park, which got a bigger 1st kicker landing plus bigger take off. Beside that we already have the Quarterpipe top shaped with 7m height and the start hill is really high to ensure enough speed for the kickerline. Jib tun will be ready tomorrow for the first time. It?s an amazing new feature to the Roxy Park. Wallride & Updown Rail will follow on next Wednesday. Today i started in the DC Central Park which will be open for sure next weekend. Freeriding is so good here too as we have 2m snow on the mountain. So plenty options for you to have fun in Kitzsteinhorn next weekend!

hi! we built some new obstacles in our park! last sunday we built the multi obstacle( includes a quater, kinked rail, a jump and a rainbowrail). yesterday rob built another small kicker.. and today we built up the BIG double kinked box, unfortiunatelly without a kicker, but we make it ready to ride as sonn the temperatures drop a bit!
!!but for the weekend the park is open!!

Seems winter is coming strong this year. At 3200 meters above sea level this often means heavy winds, snowfall and freezing temperatures. Therefor the betterpark at the Hintertuxer Gletscher won't be maintained by betterparks from now on till the mid of April.

What a week. First we got a lot of snow, second the parklift had to moved up the last 3 days, third Torah Bright showed up to check her best line, fourth we got again snowfalls by today. This seems to be a never ending winter full of happenings here in Kaprun. Meanwhile the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park Shape Crew managed to finish the almighty Quarterpipe in the Roxy Park and the Easy Park with a triple kickerline, each with 2 take offs 4m/8m. So this means that you will enjoy the parkdays/weeks herer sure. Next weekend we will start to build the long awaited DC Central Park which is expected to be open on the 12th of Dec. As we got fortunately massive snow last week, the park will be open on the 1st of December. At the moment it looks like that almoste the whole set up can be realized. The jib park, wallride, parts of the rail- and kickerline will be available from the very beginning. The chill house with the new boulder walls will open too. DC TTR Bootcamp_Drew Stevenson vs 15 rookies

Last week the DC TTR Bootcamp in Kaprun/Kitzseinhorn was again on the agenda of Drew, the TTR master himself. During 3 days & nights 15 talented girls&boys got special training in how to become a good pro in the eyes of drill sergeant Drew. No one knows better than him what the do & don´t of a pro snowboarder looks like and this was rare gift for those kids to share the experience with the master. Again the avalanche training was a very important topic in the program as some of the rookies never had practising a peeper before. So kids, if you want have some pow you better take a lesson before, so you will be aware of the dangers and be prepared for this year´s winter season. The park itself was of course in good condition, the riders even got a special obstacle-a mini wallride to gondola- in the chill area to jib and so all those kids had definitely their fun on the mountain. See you hopefully soon in the hot Roxy Glacier Park :-)

Hello Riders! Since Friday afternoon the Roxy Glacier Park is open again with 4 Lines. The beginners will have their fun with the 4 easy kicker line ( 5m tables) and 1 Funbox 4m / 1 Straight Rail 4m / 1 Rainbow Rail
4m, while the adavanced riders will have their choice with a 2 kicker line or 1 Kinked Box 6m / 1 Funbox 9m / 1 A-Box 9m / 1 Curved Box 8m. This weekend the DC TTR Boot Camp with 20 talended riders is held in the park and the kids have a lot fun in the park. We expect to finish the quarterpipe in 2 weeks, so check out for our next blog. Besides the successful highlights, such as the BOS Testcenter with the
newest material of the season 2007/2008 to test for free, parties of the
finest international renowned live acts from Rock and Punk to Hip Hop
and Ragga-Dancehall (Headliners: 3 Feet Smaller & Mono&Nikitaman) we are
looking forward to a „back to the future“ with totally new modules and
side events, such as the “BIG PARK mini shred” or video presentations of
international top productions.

THE CONTEST
The KTO BIG PARK mini shred will be a highlight for all – everyone is
entitled to participate - in Session Format judges, as well as riders
will decide who takes home the award at the end of the day for the
Ripper of the Day, the Best Girl, the Best Trick as well as the Best
Rookie.
mini shred and Park will be rated - the Kaunertal Session is opened: Who
will find the Line of the Day? Who can hang out the most? Riders decide
– riders shred.
A total of 3.000 Euros will be paid out as prize – it’s worth
registering and participating!

“Absinthe Films”, wellknown for their progressive style in
snowboardmovies, treat the topic of global warming and the changes on
our planet and its effects and challenges for snowboarders in their
newest masterpiece “OPTIMISTIC”.
The “Pirate Movie Productions” celebrate the premiere of their new movie
“Walk The Plank” with the best shots of the last season, featuring
national and international riders such as Gigi Rüf, Dimitry Fesenko,
Aleksi Vanninen and many more.
Additionally, there will be professional photographers in the park on
Sunday and photos will be taken of those who know how it’s done and of
those who don’t;-). Gone are the times of the wobbly mobile phone
pictures – these photos can be downloaded for free in the Web.

More specials are for example the KTO-poker-tournament, game stations
with all kinds of consoles and much more

Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park is now open

Yo folk,
from last Saturday on you can ride the Roxy Glacierpark. Although we´ve great snow conditions on the slopes, we decided to build the Easy Line with 4 Kickers, each around 5m table. For the advanced riders there is the last kicker open. You can choose between a 14m or 8m take off which is built "roller style" and thus safe and better to learn your tricks. Rails& boxes plus the other kickers will be added after next snowfall. Probably mid of October you will have more obstacles to choose. Please post your feedback, so we can ensure that you will be satisfied with our work.
